August 20...232/365

Our kids are growing up! Sometimes instead of hiring a babysitter, we let them stay home alone with Quinn and Clara in charge of taking care of emergencies. BUT...no one is really "the boss." They all work together to get along (no phone calls to Mom or Dad because of arguments) and getting any assigned chores completed. If they meet those criteria, they earn some "staying home alone money." They decide together what they are saving for. They've been saving for almost a year for a night away at Great Wolf Lodge and we were finally able to go this weekend!!

  2. Cool idea! We paid our kids instead of a babysitter recently. I'm afraid we don't go out often enough to let them earn something like that. Maybe we should try!

  3. We only pay $3 an hour, but it helped that Quinn and Clara were earning the dog-sitting money as well. Even with that, it took almost a year! We aren't in a small group right now, but last year when we were, we would pay them to stay home then instead of dragging them along.
